Exodus 1

• Genesis 15:13 - Bondage for 400 years
• Malachi to Matthew - Also 400 years. See H.A. Ironside's book "400 Silent Years" - Persian, Greek, and Roman captivities
• This was a period of no prophets, silent period broken by the Lord Jesus in Matthew, and Moses in Exodus
• In both Exodus and Matthew, all male children were killed
• In Matthew, Jesus went down to Egypt for protection, just as Israel did at the end of Genesis

Exodus 2:14

• Who made you ruler and judge?
• His own received Him not; Jn. 1:11

Exodus 3:7-8, 14

• "I am come down"
• "I AM" is from the same root word as "Jehovah" - translated to "the eternal" in French, but "LORD" in English.

• The journey doesn't begin until the lamb's death. Just like Christ first had to die.
